Farewell First Year

It's really fitting when I come to think about it, I've almost had this blog for a year, I've finished up my first year at college, and I managed to make it to post 100 all around the same time. That's some sort of weird coincidence if you ask me.

Anyway, this post has been in the making for about a week now, because I knew I wouldn't be able to do it all in one sitting. The idea behind this post is just that I want to introduce a couple of my friends, and say thanks to them in the process.

Jacob:
How to describe Jacob? He's like.... If you took me, and then mixed me with a... Louder more... Aggressive person. That's not to say it's anything bad! It's a perfect blend, he's probably one of the funniest/nicest guys there is, oh, and he's a wee bit a nerd. =D

It's only fitting that I start with you. This year wouldn't have managed to make any sort of impact on me were it not for you. I am truly thankful I pushed my way into our research methods class, because it allowed me to get to know you. I can't wait until we get to room together, because I know it will be all sorts of awesome, and we'll probably get lost in games from time to time, but hey, that's the fun, right? Thanks for making this year so much better!

Ramon:
Well, he's sort of a genius. Had to, sorry. He really is ridiculously smart though, and uber modest, which is completely awesome! I met him through my research methods class, and without him I'm sure a lot of the homework would have gone unanswered. Haha.

I couldn't make this post without thanking you. Without you, and our many late nights at the library, with the awesome "Please remember that thefts in the library happen verrry queeckly." voice, I wouldn't have much of anything about my first semester that I liked. You made the homework/whatever else time a whole lot better! Thanks, and hopefully we'll get to hang out sometime when we aren't stalking each other next year. Haha.

Eric:
He's your typical... Not so typical Nintendo nerd. I mean he loves Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, and most things Mario related, you know, the Nintendo things. He's much more than that though, he's all around one of the funnest guys I've ever hung out with.

Thanks for making this semester an absolute blast! For some reason, I can't find the words to properly thank you enough. Late nights in front of the tower, incessant "Young Padawan"s, and our epic Kirby train levels made so many memories that I will forever cherish. Thanks!

Cathy:
Cathy is the Artsy of the group. The English major who gets to hang out with all of the super cool Comp Sci nerds. She's nice, uber caring, funny, and in several ways more nerdy than I could ever be. For some reason, she makes me feel like I should read more. Weird, right?

Sometimes, I'm not sure who is luckier, you or us. It's not really much of a question tough, because it's definitely us hands down. You're amazing, and I wouldn't trade one moment with you for anything. Thanks for reading and liking my story, for reading this thing when you could easily spend your time elsewhere, and for being so much like me that it hurts sometimes. =D

Corey:
I can not even begin to describe Corey. He's an amalgamation of sounds, facial expressions, and so much more that there aren't enough words in the English language to aptly describe him. He's loud and outgoing, and every bit a person you should know.

Thanks for not being too cool for us. You've made this year way better, and I don't even want to imagine what this year would have been like without your... Squeals? Your... I don't even know. Your you. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be there for that. You're really swell, and I can't wait until next time we get to hang out.

Ann:
Ann is way too nice for her own good. I envision her as what Kairi would be like if she were real, which if you know Kairi and my love for Kingdom Hear means she's uber awesome! She has pretty much all of the same video game likes as me, and she is an amazing artist.

I have to thank you Ann, for loving Kingdom Hearts and telling me about the Kingdom Hearts piano guy, because that's what led to my meeting everyone. Thanks for all the enjoyable walks to the bus, nerd outs over the piano guy, and especially for the awesome drawing of Sora, which is insanely good. You're amazing, and I'm glad we started hanging out. Mucho thanks!

Daniel:
Upon being asked the question, "How are you Daniel?" Daniel responded, "My life is pain." Daniel forgets when his own birthday is. These two little things aside, Daniel is a really awesome guy to hang out with. Funny, sarcastic, and what else do you need? But seriously, he's a really awesome friend, and I'm glad he suffered through my research class with me, because I am up one more amazing friend, whom I wouldn't trade for anything.

Thank you Daniel for several late nights of Champions. I needed thouse more than even I knew, and your willingness to take part in them made them so much more enjoyable. From "Good morning Daniel!" to your burning desire to catch me when my filter falls, I have appreciated your company this year, and I look forward to the new gaming ventures/other shenanigans we get into! Thanks for being a truly great friend!

Eric:
A few basics first. He's TALL, he plays basketball a lot, he generally picks Samus in Super Smash Bros, he plays Starcraft (and is pretty flippin awesome at it), and on several occasions (maybe just one, but hey who's counting) he had carried a box around. Like... Pokemon and such. If you couldn't tell he's super awesome!

Thanks for being so easy to get along with. You're uber friendly and it's really been inspiring hanging out with you. Also, thanks for not cursing. That's the most inspiring thing about you, because it helps my resolve knowing that there happens to be someone else who isn't afraid to be a bit weird because they don't use curse words.

William:
He's me, except only in name, and that's kinda false also. While we do share both our first and middle names and out love for Doctor Who, we're pretty much... Well... I was going to say nothing alike but that's not true. He's really fun to hang out with! Geeze! Haha.

Thanks William, for being another awesome William out there! You're great company, and I'm glad I get to share my name with you. I have really enjoyed getting to nerd out over Doctor Who with you, and am really going to miss watching with you, but I look forward to talking to you about all the new episodes, and freaking out about the epicness together!

My only qualm about posts like these, is that I always miss people. I couldn't have made it through this year without Ricky, Lynn, Sara, Kiara, Enrique, Jaira, Melody, Allie, Ceci, and so many more people! You guys all made this year uber awesome, and I can't wait till I'm back on campus with all you guys!

Love you all, and have an awesome Summer!

So... This is post 99. =D

Stupid Blogger! I break the biggest rule of all, and stop reading mid chapter to update this bad boy and you decide that you're going to be down for an hour!? How dare you!! You even made me forget a lot of what I was going to say! =/

Anyway, yes, I stopped reading mid-chapter. I can't believe myself, but I had the greatest inspiration for a blog just now. You know how you can feel it welling up inside of you, maybe not a blog but just overwhelming emotions.

Well maybe it's the awesome feeling I get from reading The Innocent Mage, the beautiful piano skills of this guy, or just the random chatter going on around me, but I feel so... At home. Seriously, like I'm getting chills just thinking about it.

First, the guy playing the piano. I'm 100 percent positive he's Izzy. Somehow, Izzy's doppleganger ended up here at UT. He's amazing, and I can't wait until the day I get to see Izzy again. I can't wait for my birthday so I can get on a plane and fly out to New York, compliments of Google. It'll be awesome, and so beyond anything that I could have dreamed ever happening before this last year.

That's not what this is about though. What this is about is more the feeling of home. The feeling... This... Perfect peace. Really and truly! I felt so perfectly peaceful, and I can't fully explain these feeling to you right now, because the explanation requires a lot of stuff that needs to be in the next post. After my next post, numero 100, you'll better understand this year, that feeling, and why beyond anything else I know I'm not going to make it out of Austin before I break down at the thought of not being here for a measly 2-3 months.

I'll probably be working on the post, but it won't be up until Monday evening. Tuesday morning at the latest. I promise you that. Post 100. The post to break all posts.

Finals

It's nearing finals time here at the good ole U of T, and you know what that means.

Well, for most people it means cramming as much of the year's materials into their heads as possible, studying more than was studied all year, and hoping that on the day of the test you retain it all. This normal routine has yet to apply to myself.

I've spent my last few days being generally awesome, and hanging out with friends/family.

Saturday, I went with Eric, Cathy, Ricky, Corey, Will and Jacob to participate in free comic book day. Everyone except for Corey got 10 free comics, and I bought this cool old school X-Men shirt.

Then, we went to 7-11 because Corey wanted to get a slushie or something from there. After Corey, Ricky and Jacob got slushies we waited for the next bus that would take us to Amy's Ice Creams.

Once at Amy's we got us some ice cream and ate it there, while just hanging out. We had fun just spending time hanging out. When we ended up back on campus finally we went to my room to watch Attack of the Clones.

Critiquing Anakin's whining was a lot more fun than it sounds. Haha. I'm not sure if Eric heard a lot of it over the joking about Anakin. We were kinda loud.

After the show was over, we decided to go get us a late dinner, and ended up at Kerbey Lane. I got me the French Toast, like usual, and enjoyed me a fine meal, with fine company. We had a great time, and Cathy really isn't a thief. Really, she isn't! Haha.

We got back, and managed to get everyone into my room, where we played video games till late. Haha. It was a blast and we only called it a night because I had to get up in 4ish hours.

My Sunday started off with me waking up almost an hour late. I then rushed, but drove safely to get to my brother's. I ended up meeting everyone at The Gold Coat Inn.

It was a nice, quaint little place, and we ended up pulling 4 or 5 tables together for everyone who was there. I ordered some delicious French Toast, and ate so much I filled up my stomach. It was a good meal, believe you me.

From there, we went to Jessica's mom's house. We just really hung out, but it was really nice. After a while, we played Catch Phrase. After some ridiculous rule changes, we squared off, team Pitchfork vs team Bald Eagle, I think anyway.

Team Pitchfork started off slower, but had higher scoring round which shot us ahead of the Eagles. Haha. After more almost napping, we had an epic dinner with Filet Mignon, and some of the best Blueberry Cheesecake ever!

I'm now I'm back on campus, and spending just about the same amount of time preparing for tests. I know, I'm bad and should study, but I just can't. I will for Geology, and semi-review some calculus, but I can't for any of my CS stuff without stressing myself.

I was thinking about it earlier, and it made it seem more... Realistic, but I'm really almost done with my first year of college. I'm actually ok with that, it's the idea of leaving the people here that I think is slowly killing me.

I don't want to/can't spend my time holed up studying when I know I won't see these people for a few months.

I should still study, I know! I'm kind of old enough to know how I work, and how much I need to study to do well in my classes. It's not the same as other people, and I know that I need to do well, and I plan on doing my best. So, if you're worrying about me, don't. It's nice, but i'm really going to be fine.

This should be post 99, and 100 will be epic, I promise you that.

I'm Almost Done,

and i'm not sure exactly how I should feel about it.

Scratch that, I know how I should feel, and I'm pretty positive I know exactly how I feel.

Everything inside of me can't wait another day for classes to be over. I can't wait to sit in my car for 9 hours so that I can see my family, and my friends from home. I want to watch my sister play basketball (who is this guy who openly wants to watch sports!). I want to give Brian the biggest hug/congratulations ever on his uber fantastic video. I want to just sit, and have Chelsea there when I need her. I want to spend more time with Cody, just nerding out and being awesome. You have no idea how strongly I have wanted this to be so.

Everything inside of me dreads the idea of this year being over. I don't want the torturous 9 hour drive that will take me away from my family and friends from UT. I want to stay and hang out more with my brother, just playing games to kill time. I want to stay and laugh at the awesomeness that is Corey. I want to stay and nerd out over the Kingdom Hearts guy in the piano lounge with Ann. I want to stay and read books like Cathy. I want this more than anything!

Which sounds really weird, I'm sure. I love it, and hate it. I really truly don't ever want to leave my friends I've made here, but I can't wait to see my friends from home. It is kind of wierd having to differentiate between them, haha.

If I were currently on my computer, I would add some pictures

Here

But i'm not, so sorry.

Also, since I am on my phone and out is late, I think I'm out for the night.

Sleep tight peoples. =D

Clarification

Ahhh! I'm using up one more of my posts, which places me one step closer to post 100, which means one step closer to the most awesome, most fantastical, uber awesome posts ever!

No, aside from the deteriorating grammar up there, I would like to clarify a bit for the non-Pekoman fanatics out there who read this thing.

In the last post, it was explained to you about several of my friends, including myself, and Pokemon we were given. Here is a real brief explanation about each Pokemon so you can understand it better.

Combee - That is a female Combee, since it is actually useful as a female, male Combee pictures are hard to find. They look the same, except they don't have the red gem. Male Combees can not evolve, and only learn 3 moves in their lifetime, while females do evolve, and can learn more. Hence, many "Combee is useless!" / "Such a Combee!" jokes. Haha. They aren't calling me useless, so don't think they dislike me.

Snorlax - Snorlax likes to sleep a lot, and eat a lot. Since our friend Eric W. is tall, and likes to eat a lot he was dubbed Snorlax. No further explanation is really needed, haha!

Spinda - Spindas are known for being constantly dizzy, and confusing their opponents with their sporadic movements. Cathy is prone to tripping, and on occasion aborting walking in general. Hence, she is a Spinda. =D

Psyduck - Psyduck is easily confused, and known for popping up when you least expect him to (Especially in Misty's case). Gerardo is known for getting confused, and being really good at creeping. Hence, Psyduck.

Plusle and Minun - I don't really know how to explain Ann and Lynn other than saying they are twins with very distinct personalities while still maintaining that awesome twin connection.
Wobbuffet - Corey talks a lot, and is pretty much the best comic relief ever. Wobbuffet is always there for comic relief in the show, and as such he is Corey's Pokemon equivalent. Also, Wobbuffet is actually that black tail. Just fyi.

The ones at the end are mainly just for fun. You can look them up, or ignore them. Haha. And I'm out peoples! Sleep tight all!

Combee is the bestestest :D (or, apparently, the pokepost!)

Cathy is an artsy who doesn't know what to write.
And Eric is a compsci-er who just doesn't know HOW to write.

But we love Combee :)

OH! That's what we'll do! We'll explain Eric's pokemon team! (he says yayyy!!)
So, it started when our group of friends met Combee, a.k.a., William! Eric has a habit of giving many of his friends (or at least the ones he likes) nicknames. Since it was around the crazy pokemon time (pokemon black and white) it only made sense that William would acquire a pokemon's name! "Combssss....Combusken? Combee!" he thought.
That's how Eric's pokemon team began. The rest of us thought it'd be a great idea to finish this team, with the pokemon that best represented the rest of us. Eric was the weirdo so we made him the pokemon trainer (haha jk. but no, really ;] ).  The other Eric (the one that matters) LOOOVEEES to eat! What other pokemon loves to eat more than a Munchlax? the tall one, Eric, said that Munchlax was nowhere near his height, and thought that he should be Snorlax instead, and so he was!
As for myself, the mostest gracefulest, I was dubbed Spinda, which made no sense whatsoever.
Another one of us that disagreed with the pokemon that was chosen for them was our friend, Gerbear, aka, Gerardo, aka, Psyduck! He seems to be the most easily confused and clueless (in a good way).  So it only made sense.  He disagreed and thought he should be made Mewtwo, which the rest of us thought was the best joke he had ever told. Psyduck he remained.
Ann and Lynn joined the team as Plusle and Minun respectively. It was a no brainer, since they are the beloved twins of the group (sorry Michael, Snorlax's twin). We thought maybe they could be a Doduo, but thought we would give them their own pokemon with their own personality <3
Corey is the loud jokester of the group, our very own soundbox that always makes the rest of us smile. We made him a Wobbuffet!
And that was the very short story of how Eric's pokemon team came to be.  But his pokemon team could expand members that would make it more awesome could join.  A Blissey to take care of Spinda's constant falls, a Slowking to help Psyduck with his thousands of questions, an Exploud to serenade the rest of us with Wobbuffet, a Vanillish to keep Snorlax company, a Jigglypuff to sing with Combee's piano, a Smeargle make amazing art with Plusle and Minun,
and another trainer to help Eric with this terrible mess :)
